I'm fairly happy with what I've done on this so far, but it needs more. I think the planet, sun and starfield are good, but all my attempts to add cool looking galaxies and gas clouds so far have sucked, and it really needs more eye candy. Advice and/or tutorials on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. Made in GIMP 2.41

err your stars are pretty like ... there's a lot. increase and decrease brightness and contrast levels. you'll remove a lot of the crappier stars. you noise generated right? check mine out :D

They're for PS, but you should be able to adapt some elements into gimp.

Also... gimp can't do as much as photoshop can. i would know, i started off on gimp.

Yeah, its noise generated. Unfortunately the gimp crashes when I try to clear the background for layers, the cpu doesn't handle selection at these resolutions.
